Do you want to run for Subvert's Board of Directors? This is your chance.
On Sept 19th, we are holding an election as part of our Annual General Meeting. We want to invite you to participate.
Our Board of Directors is made up entirely of elected members. Just artists, labels, supporters, and workers, elected by their peers.
If you're a member of Subvert, you can run.
What the board does:
- Sets the overall strategy and long-term direction for Subvert
- Hires, oversees, and can remove leadership
- Approves major financial decisions, including the annual budget
- Makes sure everything Subvert does stays aligned with the co-op's values and mission
- Represents the interests of your membership class in every high-level decision
Members: Our Annual General Meeting is September 19, and we're electing 3 new directors:
- 1 Artist Member
- 1 Label Member
- 1 Supporter Member
Directors serve three-year terms and are compensated $1,200 per year.
Eligibility:
In order to get on the ballot, members need to self-nominate, go to one orientation call, complete a written interview, and meet the following criteria of minimum platform activity:
- Artist Members: create an artist page and upload a release
- Label Members: upload a release
- Supporter Members: purchase at least one release
Timeline:
- August 7–16: Self-nomination window
- August 16–22: Candidate orientation calls. Four sessions offered, attend any one. Required to appear on the ballot.
- August 22–30: Candidates finalized and ballot materials collected
- September 19: AGM. Voting opens.
- September 26: Voting closes. Results shared with members.
