Labels on Subvert (timeline)
We’re hard at work on label pages. Here’s what you can expect, and when (roughly).
Overview
1. Today (Labels V0):
Labels can now create pages for artists on their roster, set up payout routing via Stripe, and invite artists to co-manage their page.
Dedicated label pages and storefronts aren't ready yet, but they are coming. Per-release payout routing will also come later.
Today, payouts go to one destination per artist page. We'll be working on better solutions for artists with releases on multiple labels, or a mix of both self-released and label releases.
Before label storefronts go live on Subvert, Artists can add their label as a co-manager of their artist page. Labels can also set up and manage artist pages for artists on their roster.
2. Later 2026 (Labels V1):
Dedicated label storefront pages launch with the ability to link and display your artists’ prior Subvert releases seamlessly.
At this stage, you'll be able to customize and publish a hub/storefront for your label, complete with a dashboard, release-level payout routing, a bulk upload portal, and unified, exportable financial reports.
3. Still Scoping (Labels V2+): Additional features such as catalog imports and native revenue splits.
As soon we launch our Labels V1 product, we’ll double down on expanding functionality to include automated release-level splits and catalog imports (DDEX, CSV, API). Native support for selling physical media and merchandise for all artists and labels on Subvert remains a top product priority.
