The Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting is the cooperative's main once-a-year membership meeting. The board presents a report on the year, members vote on board elections, and members vote on any proposals on the agenda.
The first Subvert AGM is scheduled for July 2026. The 2026 meeting will be held virtually. We intend to hold future AGMs in person where possible.
Notification
The cooperative is required by its bylaws to notify members between 10 and 120 days before the meeting. Notification goes out by email and is posted on the forum. The notice includes the date, time, and location of the meeting, the business to come before it, and the membership classes eligible to vote on each matter.
Quorum
For the AGM to make decisions, at least 0.5% of eligible members must be present, in person or by proxy. Online attendance counts as presence.
What happens at the meeting
A typical AGM agenda includes:
- The board's report on the cooperative's business and financial condition
- Election of board directors whose seats are up for vote that year
- Votes on any member proposals that have been approved for the agenda
- Votes on any other matters requiring member approval
After the AGM, the cooperative publishes a recap with results, attendance, and any decisions made.
